Brian, this week’s Anecdote hit me hard. My wife and I lost our 3rd child in the first trimester more than 30 years ago. I’ve never gotten over it, although I try to bury those memories. I relate to every word you’ve written about that incident in your life. Another brilliantly written Anecdote.
Thanks, Jeff. Despite the certainty with which this story ends, like you, I’m still struggling with what things I should keep and what things I should get rid of.
Great writing. You never know about stuff you save. I have the fabric from The Gates in Central Park. Was the first time I was with my kids in NYC. Have a silver dollar my grandfather gave me. Other nicknacks. No idea what they will do with them but I can't bear to throw them out.
When my kids were really young I put down a case of wine from their birth year for each....in the event I wasn't around for their 21st. At least I could buy them a drink. I wrote letters the year I put the case down. They framed them.
Now they are married and have children. I save two bottles of wine from their children's birth year and I wrote them a letter, in case I am not around. I will be in my 80s when those kids hit their 21st.

Thanks my friend, and I am so sorry for your loss.
You have a talent, Brian.
